4 Amazing DIY Herbal Bath Tea Recipes

It’s no secret that I’ve been a lover of herbal infusions, home remedies, and all kinds of teas for years (I have shared my 5 favorite DIY HERBAL TEA BLENDS (here). It’s not only my drink of choice to start each day and get an energy boost in the afternoon, but tea is also an important part of my wellness and beauty routine for skin, body, and hair care, which I shared here along with some other natural beauty secrets I learned from my grandmother in Cuba.

And since I always get asked questions about my health and body care routine, I’ve decided to share with you today another big part of it: My 4 favorite DIY Herbal Bath Tea Recipes.

These are 100% natural, easy to make, and will improve not only your outside beauty but also your health and wellbeing from the inside out. And as with most tea blends, these can be premade and stored in glass jars so you can use them as frequently as you want.

But first things first: just in case you haven’t heard...

WHAT ARE DIY HERBAL TEA BATHS?

Herbal tea baths are, for me, the ideal cure for after those long stressful days at the office or at home, where we all have to juggle work, relationships, and everyday responsibilities. Taking a bath is the perfect way to relax after a work deadline or to soothe your skin after a long summer day basking in the sun. Adding tea into your bath water takes this to the next level!

The right DIY Herbal Tea can help almost everyone, including pregnant women and babies. In my opinion it makes almost everything better, even helping for those emotional times. There’s nothing quite like washing away stress by transforming your bathroom into a spa and spending a couple of hours soaking those feelings away in a bubble bath.

HOW TO MAKE DIY HERBAL TEA BATH RECIPES?

These herbal tea bath recipes couldn't be easier to make!

There are two ways to prepare herbal tea baths. One is by mixing the herbs together in a MUSLIN BAG, one big bag (or in three small ones) and preparing a hot bath while placing the muslin bags in the steamy water. The longer the bags sit in the bath, the better. I normally let them sit for at least 15 minutes, or 30 if I want a more infused water. Just don’t let the water get cold!

If you have herbs left over, you can store them in AIRTIGHT GLASS CONTAINERS for future use.

The second way is by placing a medium pot (around a liter) filled with water and the dried herbs on the stove. For the first few minutes, simply stir and ensure that the ingredients are combined well. Once it is boiling for several minutes, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for at least 10 more minutes. Run a hot bath and proceed to strain the liquid (through a cheesecloth or a HERBAL BATH TEA STRAINER) and pour the liquid into the bath. I really like this method, as it’s easier to keep the bath water hot!

When using fresh ingredients to prepare some of the blends (for example oranges, lemons, turmeric and ginger) make sure to peel away the outer layer in the oranges and lemons, and shred the ginger and the turmeric into thin strips. Place these on a baking sheet or pan and bake them in the oven for approximately 2 hours at 175 degrees or until they are completely dry. Place them to rest on the counter overnight, chop them in small pieces, and prepare your blend the next morning.

These 4 DIY DIY HERBAL TEA BATH RECIPES are also ideal as gift ideas to give to love ones or friends as a Valentine's Day gift, or on any other special occasion!

To prepare them as gifts, I like to place the dried ingredients into SMALL GLASS JARS WITH RIBBON/CORD and a card attached to the lid.

Alternatively, you can place them in SMALL MUSLIM BAGS and attach a ribbon and a card to the bag!

I’ve also combined the two and prepared small bags of tea mix, then put these together in a LARGER GLASS JAR for storage and display! This is my favorite way to give these as a gift.
